Which airport should I fly to?
Medellín has 2 airports: Olaya Herrera (EOH) and María José Cordoba (MDE). EOH is a local airport located in the middle of the city and MDE is the principal international airport situated about 20-30 minutes away from Medellín in nearby Rio Negro. You will usually be flying to MDE airport.
Do you have a chase truck?
Yes, our chase truck meets us at the end of each day and carries all of our luggage. It is also on call in case of any type of problem (mechanical, accident, injury, etc.). On the rare occasion that the chase truck cannot reach the accomodation, you may have to carry what you need for 1 night.
What insurances do you have?
For added peace of mind we have several different insurance policies here at Colombia Dualsport. Firstly is the SOAT ( Seguro Obligatorio de Accidentes de Tránsito), this is an obligatory insurance which all Colombian vehicles must have. It will cover any personal injury (to the rider or anyone else involved) and ensure you will receive the necessary medical attention if required. Secondly, we take out individual insurance policies on all of our participants. This extends the already good coverage of the SOAT, and also includes helivac should it ever be needed. Obviously we also encourage everyone to also bring their own travel insurance (or ask if your home insurance already covers you).
Can you accomodate special dietary requirements?
We are a happy to accomodate any special dietary requirements that you may have, just let us know when you book your date. We normally stop for lunch in more remote villages, so please be aware that if you are vegetarian and especially if you are vegan, it can be challenging to find a variety of meals at lunchtime.
How big are the tour groups?
Our standard tour group is 4 riders plus 2 guides and we accomodate up to 6 riders. We find that groups larger than this can make logistics overly complicated and take away from the experience of some of the places we visit.
Do I have to come with my own group?
No. You can either choose to come with your own group of riding buddies or you can contact us and we will join you up with other riders to complete the 4 rider group minimum, you may also want to consider our rally experience if you are a lone rider.
Can I bring a pillion/passenger
Our rides are focused on the off-asphalt aspect of motorcycle travel and we regularly incorporate single track and technical sections into our routes. However, if you do want to bring a non-rider friend or SO please take a look at our road tour, which is completely suitable for bringing a pillion along.
What do I need to bring?
Apart from a positive attitude you will need a full set of riding gear (helmet, boots, gloves, knee guards and upper body protection). As well as this we highly recommend a hydration pack and waterproofs (if you don't have waterproofs, they can be purchased for a few dollars here). It's also good to have a waterproof bag that you can put a change of clothes in to relax in the evening)
How can I pay?
We prefer to use either credit/debit card or PayPal as they are both secure and convenient. If, for what ever reason, you can't or don't want to pay via credit/debit card or PayPal, let us know and we can arrange an alternative.
Is gear included/can I rent it?
We recommend that you bring your own riding gear. However, if for some reason that isn't possible please let us know (in advance) and we can usually arrange some gear for you to rent.
When do I pay?
To take advantage of our low base price a 50% deposit most be paid (75USD per person per day), the remaining 50 % is due when you confirm your group's tour date, or 1 month before the decided tour date (whichever is later).
How much do the tours cost?
The sale base price for our tours is 150USD per person per day. This is based on having a minimum of 4 riders and 2 guide riders. If you want to have a tour with a smaller number of riders (and don't want us to make up the number, by combining you with another group or sole riders) an additional charge will apply.

What is included in the tour price?
The base price includes motorcycle rental (Kawasaki KLX250S or equivalent), fuel, parking and toll fees, chase truck (which will assist in case of mechanical or other issues and transport luggage between nightly accomodation- on the rare occasions that the chase truck cannot reach the accomodation, you might be required to carry one nights gear for upto 1 day), guide and associated guide costs, insurances. We also ensure that you have accomodation each night (according to your budget and demands) and we make arrangements for at least 3 meals a day. We make all arrangements for food and accomodation, but the cost is not included in the tour price, depending on your choices reasonable accomodation can usually be had from 10-15USD per night and traditional Colombian meals from 2-3USD.
What happens if I break something?
All tours and rentals are subject to a 1000USD deposit per motorcycle, this is usually in the form of a hold on your credit card. This is released as soon as the bike is inspected after the completion of your tour or rental. We realize that some minor damage is inevitable with this style of riding; so we never charge for reasonable wear and tear, scratches (not applicable to street only rental), etc., however more significant damages will be charged.
Can I reschedule or cancel my tour dates?
All tour dates can be rescheduled indefinitely (within reasonable limits), with no additional fee, when a minimum of at least 1 month's (or 2 month's if your group is less than 4) notice is given. For cancelations we charge a 25% cancelation fee when a minimum of at least 1 month's (or 2 month's if your group is less than 4) notice is given, for less notice a 50% of the total tour value cancelation fee is applied. Tours bought at special offer prices can only be rescheduled, not cancelled.
How are Rally Experience t&c different?
Differently to our tour options, in the rally experience you will be participating in a nationally sanctioned race, so you will be self guided using a roadbook (as in most other rally style competitions), i.e. no guide is provided. It is recommended that you practice and become familiar with roadbook navigation before the trip. Additional roadbook navigation training/practice can also be provided if required. The Rally experience is not eligible for our 150USD pp/day special offer pricing and is priced seperately. As in any kind of competition it is likely that some kind of accident or damage to the vehicle may occur, we will not charge you for scratches or superficial cosmetic damages; but any more serious damage or anything that impacts the good working order of the vehicle will be charged from your security deposit or credit card (if necessary).
