5-day ride & river

This 5-day tour takes us through some of Colombia's most popular attractions as well through lots of it's hidden gems.

2 days riding-1 day on the river-2 days riding

Day 1) We'll pick you up and drive up to our starting point in Rio Negro (that's near the airport). From there we'll jump on the bikes and spend the rest of the morning exploring the country roads on our journey northeast, towards Guatapé.

Sometime after lunch we should arrive in the village of Guatapé. Guatapé was founded in 1811, but there has been a settlement in that area for hundreds of years. It is located on the banks of a large reservoir and famous for its monolith El Peñón de Guatapé/Piedra del Peñol (or Stone in English), which is 220m tall.

We will have time to spend a few hours around Guatapé (depending on what the group decides), where you might choose to climb the monolith, explore the traditional town center or spend time on the water. Afterwards, we will ride a few more hours to our country house accomodation to spend the night.

Day 2) This will be our longest riding day. You will discover a variety of back roads and hidden trails that meander through the Andes mountains, overlooking some spectacular scenary. We will arrive in Rio Claro reserve in the evening.

Day 3) The third day is a day off the bikes and a chance to enjoy the crystaline waters of the Rio Claro. Here you can spend your time doing a variety of activities, from relaxing in an innertube whilst floating down the river to exploring caves and rafting.

Day 4) After a good day's rest we get on the bikes and head south. We will enjoy a full-day's riding with some stops for food and pictures along the way. In the late afternoon/early evening we will stop buy a hotspring before where you can relax and eat before turning in for the night.

Day 5) After our last night on the road we begin to head back to
Medellín. The altitude will increase as we head up past peaks of near 10 000 feet (3000m) before dropping down into our home base in Envigado sometime in the afternoon.
